Do Keswick - a tourism & community website

Keswick has a fascinating history, from the Castlerigg Stone Circle - a strange mystical site overlooking the town - to the invention of the pencil - farmers used to mark their sheep with 'Blackwad', a substance found in Borrowdale - the town has an intriguing past. George Bott, a local historian who has written Keswick: The Story of a Lake District Town, leads us through a brief history lesson.

Stuart Woodbridge gives us an interesting guided tour of Derwentwater and Borrowdale valley, all of which can be seen from the lake cruises.

DoKeswick was originally conceived by a local design firm, Evolution 1, who wanted to show all that Keswick on Derwentwater and the surrounding villages had to offer. By involving every element from Accommodation to Community, Businesses to Activities and making the site an interactive experience, the idea is to develop the content with involvement from the local community and visitors alike.

DoKeswick.com has been running for over eight years. We hope you enjoy our website.
